Jordan's Big Day

Last Sunday, October 4th Jordan decided he wanted to "Live Out Loud" and make a public declaration that he's a follower of Christ and was baptized at our church.

Lots of friends came out to support Jordan's decision of baptism...

as well as family...

His Small Group Leader Taffy baptized him.

I loved the illustration that Taffy used to explain what baptism was all about. He took off his wedding ring and held it up for all of us to see. He explained this was the ring his wife game him on their wedding day - this ring symbolized the outward expression of an inward decision they made that day to get married and be committed to each other.

And the same can be said about baptism - it's an outward expression of an inward decision the person has made to follow Christ.

Parker & David jumped in and helped Taffy baptize their friend.

And together they baptized him...

in the name of the Father, the Son & the Holy Spirit!

What an cherished moment!

We were all so proud of Jordan!

And how do we celebrate in this family....we EAT!!!

And we are good at it!!!

(Okay...truth-be-told I had my mom purposely pose for this picture! She's not normally this hardy of an eater!) But I could do a whole photo album of my family sitting around a dinner table about to eat! (Note to self!)

It's what we do. It's how we bond!

It also happened to be Russ' birthday too!

Happy Birthday Honey - you don't look a day over 40...something!!!

The cake was decadent! Chocolate Cake with 2 layers of fudge filling all covered with a thin layer of white butter cream frosting and thick chocolate ganache!!!
