Our first day of summer brought us this ugly thing! We live right up against the wilderness and from time to time all sorts of wild animals come down to roam (or in this case slither!). We get deer, bobcat, lots of rabbits, tarantulas, snakes and even Mountain Lions on occasion. Jordan and his friends were running up the trail next to our houses and ran right past this bad boy (or girl)?
Eeekkk!!! Thankfully he didn't strike but held his ground until he slithered away back from where he came from! I hope this was a good reminder to the boys that they need to be careful where they run this time of year!

Jordan spent the week at our church's Worship Conference where music leaders from all over the country (world) come for equipping & encouragement!

Russ had his third hand surgery this week - hopefully the saying "third times a charm" will be true and he will finally be healed of his trigger finger from an earlier accident. He wouldn't pose for me without his hairy daughter Chelsea! He's off and home for a MONTH!!!
Chelsea's been on a diet and looks fabulous!!! Mama's also been on a diet - but she still has a ways to go! Obviously doggie diets are easier!
We celebrated Russ on Father's Day and gave him his own iPod Touch.
Josh will be playing football all summer - gearing up for the Fall Football Season!
We think he's going to play guard this year...

I guess they do these kind of drills over and over!

The drills are putting him in the best shape of his life!

The Jr. High & High School Choir lead worship and they rocked!!! It's always so inspiring to see kids sing & praise the Lord!
Taffy - their leader rocks!!
On a sad note - our little 18 year old kitty Ashley is not doing well. I think her days are shortly numbered. Our prayer is that if it's her time to go - that she will go quickly and peacefully. We have had wonderful memories with her. She was my wedding present from Russ and got her our first month of marriage almost 18 years ago. We are trying to spend as much time that we have left enjoying her. She has become very affectionate lately and wants to be held by us (which isn't her normal personality). Maybe she also knows her time is short and wants to spend it with us too!!

More to come with Summertime Fun! I'm giving my niece a shower in a couple weeks, the guys are going to Boy Scout camp again this year, my sister is coming down from Seattle for a visit, Jordan is going to church camp and then we're all going on a cruise to Cabo San Lucas as our farewell to summer!! Oh - and we will be going to the beach...a lot!
Stay tuned!!!

Any news on Ashley?
ReplyDeleteI am SO sorry :o(
It's sad - she took a turn in her health about a week ago (I think I mentioned it to you???). In googling symptoms of a dying cat - she basically has all of them. So we're just preparing ourselves that her time with us is short. She is still eating since I switched her to wet food - but that's about it. It could be a week or maybe the summer - but I seriously doubt it. Russ just doesn't want to have to put her down - as it was so hard last time. So we're praying God will just take her in her sleep!
